WOW!!!! Grizzly Bear Sighting

From Many Glacier Hotel at Glacier N.P. folks would gather with long lenses and binoculars to see the mile away bear with his head in a bush and his butt in the air. His butt is the round ball in the center of the photo. More to come. For those that don't know, click on the photo to see a bigger butt.

Now the following Grizz was short yardage from the road and the rangers kept everyone on the opposite side of the road. We had to climb the bank to get a view of the bear in a hollow below the road. He was real close!

Mouflon Sheep: Trouble in Hawaii

A dream shot when hunting in the wild on the slopes of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. The mouflon were introduced to Hawaii as game animals. Apparently many survived the hunts by running away and eating the native plants and trees. Now they are not only game animals but wanted animals. They are destroying Hawaii's native and highly endemic ecosystems by browsing and trampling.
